Is there a way in TMM to add a custum user named genre?

Thanks,
Kevin

TMM does not provide the Genre's. That comes from whatever site you are scraping.

Simply add your own Genres as required. See image...

Hi Karellen,

I found that settings page on TMM but I still haven't figure out how to add my own named genre.  I can use the pull down menu and add a genre from the list, but what if I have a bunch of zombie movies and I want a Zombie genre.  Is it possible to do a custom user named genre?

did you try just to write Zombie in the dropdown and add this?

Ugh..... no of course not.  I saw the down arrow and clicked on it and didn't see anything like custom or user added.

Thanks, it's always the obvious that's hardest to see...

Hi!

Yeah, I've got the same problem on tMM3 and it was the same thing on the previous versions.

For "Thriller/Polar", it's a translation error.
I solved this changing genres strings in "messages_XX.properties" files located in the "locale" folder of the program but now with tMM3, this folder disappeared.

@mlaggner could you take a look on this, please?
We just want to add our own genres without being constrained by this kind of "magnetism".

for the translation error, please fix the translation at https://hosted.weblate.org/engage/tinymediamanager/ - we only know english and german and cannot do any translations in other languages.

this magnetic is the only way to find the right genre to the entered value; every genre has an own name (e.g. THRILLER) and a translated name (e.g. Polar); if you enter a word, both names in our genre list are searched for the right genre. There is nothing we can change without affecting all other users (where this feature works as they want to).

btw: I only look into the v3 code now.. v2 is kinda end of life

That's why having .properties files helped!
Everybody could change translations independently.
