My argument is a different one:
If they really want to push the cube, then they would not release another 4K firetv stick, but let it die and then sell more cubes. It's pure speculations. We can directly see that when the new UI would be released to the Cube but not to the 4K stick.

You tell the same I do. No one buys the Cube - so if we assume amazon has already produced some 100 millions of it ... what should they do?
As long as people prefer the 4K chip which is a lot cheaper, they will sit on their cubes ... so for me the only reason why the released two new 1080p sticks is, that they slowly want to remove the 4k alternative in stick form ...
As you see I am a worst case scenario guy. I honestly hope I am wrong and we will see a new 4K stick and even an UI update or the current 4K version.

Infact I bought a cheap Median 40 inch 1080p device some months ago for around 100 $. While I attached a firetv 4k stick to it - the 1080p version would be really fine. So I can understand the use-case.
In Germany, especially with people older than 40, they buy a TV and only replace it if it gets broken :-). So there is a market for these cheaper 1080p only devices.

Hi.
I own a 4K Fire TV Stick since its launch.
I thinks it's almost perfect, fast, reliable, etc. etc., but when I need to use Kodi, I always have to use another device because Fire TV does not support DTS passthrough.
I bought a MI TV Stick, Kodi works perfectly and DTS plays quite well, but the stick is really to much bugged, and slow.
I tried to install kodi-20201001-5c717b66-fritschfiretv-armeabi-v7a.apk, but I noticed that DTS options are still not available in Kodi.
Is there a way to make it work, or should I forget having DTS on Fire Stick 4K?
My audio system does not have HDMI, the firestick is connected to a splitter, which takes audio to receiver via optical cable.
This way Mi TV Stick has no problems and Kodi shows DTS options, but with Fire TV 4K it doesn't.

Hey, I am thinking of getting a Firestick4k just so I can play my DV rips since my TV media player is bit finicky when it comes to playing them. I want to know:
Will Kodi+Exoplayer be enough to run DV rips, and does it support frame rate matching when using Kodi. ? I really dont like using Plex cause I have never got it to work.
Are there any specific profiles that it supports like Atv Profile 5?
Is it able to run FEL DV or just MEL.
Is there an option to stream files over the network?
Are there currently any color space issue (like shield) or any audio sync problems?
Thanks
