Solved No DVBViewer Connection after resume
#1
Hey @manül , i had crashes after resuming which was recently fixed by: The crashes are gone but sadly both of my clients showed the same behaviour today:
  • Kodi, did'nt crash (thx to the fix above)
  • normally after resume dvbviewer addon iskicking in an fetching channels, EPG, ... -> this time it was missing
  • when i go to LiveTV the channel list is empty
  • When pressing "Exit" on kodi, it stucks and crashing -> sadly no crash dump this time
  • Network is working correctly (checked with chrome & network shares in explorer) wihtout an windows reboot
  • DVBViewer addon is working again after restart of kodi (without windows reboot)
Here are the logs of both clients, there are some DVBViewer addon errors:

Can you please look into it?

But network is'nt down!
Maybe just a short period of time after resume until network link is established and dhcp address received.
When i exit kodi network is working fine.

Is there any retry logic of loading the pvr addon on such errors?

The Addon checks periodly the connection, so the answer is just yes.

Thx, for the info.

My wife has waited ~10 minutes and DVBViewer addon was'nt able to establish a connection.
After that i closed kodi and tried network connect in explorer & chrome -> network connection was there.
Then i'll just restarted kodi and DVBviewer addon conected without an issue.
I have not restarted windows.

Any hints what can cause this issue?

PS.: gone back to restart kodi after resume just to be sure to have an fully working experience after resume and keep the WAF high  Angel

What I meant to say with this single line is: This is no PVR issue. Kodi says the network is down. See https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blob/master...y.cpp#L132

ok thx, since the issue just popped up on my two production HTPCs i can go deeper into this issue.
My feeling is that it has something todo with my rather old hardware + the realtek PCIE GBE built in network card.
Because of this (and WAF and CAF), i have switched back to shutdown/cold-boot rather than standby/resume.

@popy You might want to take a look at this issue: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/issues/14661. Maybe you can help finding the root cause. It never happened in my setup.

Big Grin That's the reason why I was so impatiently looking for a solution (sorry @manül Wink ).
@popy maybe the solution https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=337178 worth a try.
