Playback issue with pause/resume. Possible audio buffering issue?
#1
Hi,

I recently noticed when i paused during movie dialogue, that it takes some seconds for audio to come back when resuming. I'm on a Rpi3.

Also, after i start an audio track or a playlist, after a couple of seconds there is a short pause, like it's buffering, but then it never happens again.

Will someone confirm on any other system?

I have posted about this before.
Compare the Play/Pause audio loss between Netflix (no audio loss) and Kodi (several milli-seconds of silence). It is not a bug it is intentional. Using my remote and continually pressing the play button to play/pause results in Kodi advancing the video in silence. I'm guessing this has been built in for people who like to watch porn in slow motion. There is no way to disable this feature.

Nice theory but it is not intentional. Try to disable pass through which should reduce the phase of silence. Beside that it’s simply the audio buffers that are flushed on pause and need to refill on resume.

I get this from traditional broadcast TV through my AVR, it take seconds for the equipment to determine the type of audio and start the decoding, nature of the hardware.
