Is there a simple setting for cropping these sort of DVD rips?
Some UK DVDs (see early Midsomer Murders, Dalziel and Pascoe) are encoded non-anamorphic with a 14:9 video inside the 4:3 video.
Basically you have black bars at the top and bottom if you playback these DVDs.
My TV modes over-zoom by a huge amount so are useless. Just wondering if when opening Settings->Video for the video playing back there is a specific zoom for these types of video?
Maintaining the aspect ratio but zooming so the black bars top and bottom are gone. Obviously this leaves bars at either side but this is as it should be.
I don't really want to re-encode all my rips that contain video like this.
Many thanks
