Solved Kodi 18 RC3 - Blank other displays does not work
#1
Hi,

Since kodi 18 I can't get the option "Blank other displays" to work. Nothing seems to happen at all. Nothing in the debug-log either (select-action is shown, but no errors or actions follow).
Worked fine on Kodi 17 (all releases). I've tested it on a laptop as well, but with the same result (also Windows 10 1803 with integrated Intel GPU)

Machine-details:
- Kodi 18 rc3 (but seems to happen with earlier version as well)
- Windows 10 Pro Build 1803 (but same happened on 1709)
- CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition
- 12GB Ram
- GPU 1: XFX Radeon HD 6570 @ 1920x1080 -> Sony Bravia KDL40W5500
- GPU 2: XFX Radeon HD 7450 @ 1920x1080 -> Optoma HD27

I've done some futher investigation, and used a cleanly installed machine with Windows 10 build 1809.
Installed Kodi 17.6 and tested it (works as expected). Updated Kodi to 18.0 RC3 and tested it again, and the same issue occurred again. That makes it seem that the issue is not related to Windows, but to Kodi.

It's been quite a while since I used this feature, I'm wondering how you have it implemented? Are you using the PC display switch and the primary is still lit? Kodi was never designed to multitask well although many have found success, it largely depends of the hardware & combination of drivers that Kodi can toggle. Best suggestion would be to post in the bug tracker and link back to this thread.

It actually worked a few days ago, but no with a fresh install of windows and everything, that option is disabled. Have to go back to 17.

Don't leave this kind of chad hanging...

Start your own new post with a proper debug instead of injecting a me too on a solved issue.
