Is there a way for a user to affect the DLNA server compatibility/profile of Windows Kodi v18 RC3 x64?
I'd like to use Kodi's DLNA server, but I've encountered problems in compatibility with some clients. The symptoms are that some clients can browse the DLNA music and video file trees but when I try to play any file, the client just shows a "busy" icon and eventually times out.
In particular, I see these symptoms when running Kodi v18 RC3 x64 under Windows 7 (fully patched) with these DLNA clients:
- Marantz SR7009 receiver (should work for audio, but not video)
- iPad (iOs v12.1.1) running VLC v3.1.5 (should work for both audio and video)
The clients listed above do work when running the Serviio DLNA service, using its Generic DLNA profile, but I'd rather be able to use Kodi.
Kodi v18's DLNA server does work for both audio and video with these clients:
+ Sony BDP-S6500 disc player
+ VLC v3.0.4 running under Windows 7
