Req Filmin Video Addon (suggestion)
#1
Is there a Filmin video addon?

this is a VOD and subscription streaming platform for independent movies which is available in Portugal, Spain and Mexico.

https://www.filmin.pt/

Are there any devs of those countries who might look into this, i don´t know if theres an api for the service.

Just for the community to know about it also.

They wrote back `Lo sentimos, por ahora hay app nativa para Apple tv pero no para KODI.` which means there is no KODI app for now, only for apple tv.

bardamu,

thank you for your help, but you misunderstood the addon request.

None of the addons you see of streaming services and others are made by the companies, what the companies provide is an api, letting developers to make what they want with the info available on their api, in the kodi community case, a developer on their free time and interest makes an addon with the legal and disposed info of the api which the companies offer for development projects, which make their services richer in some cases.

what you should have asked is if they have an api available.

the rest is on the hands of a well-intentioned and interested developer.

That Android app is no longer properly working with new releases. Since FILMIN was updated to version 5.0.14 (last one), new releases do not play and picture or sound are missing on old titles (still available on the platform). I have to install previous version (4.4.20) in order to watch old titles (but I still cannot watch new ones). Tested with NVIDIA SHIELD PRO 2017 under Shield Experience 8 (Android Pie).

I also have contacted the spanish support team on this issue and this was their reply:
Our support team tells us that we do not offer official support for devices like yours. Filmin is only available on Philips 2015, Sony 2015, Sharp 2015, Samsung and LG TVs (from 2012). At the moment, the platform is not available for other brands but we are working to expand the offer. Filmin can still be viewed on the TV by connecting a cable from the computer or using Chromecast.

Therefore we need a KODI add-on to have FILMIN supported on a lot of Android boxes, including SHIELD TV naturally.

Thanks for any suggestion and regards

Update for this issue.

Hi! I'm new to Kodi and I like the UI a lot. I am giving a try but I want it almost exclusively for Filmin.
It's all running smoothly on my old laptop connected to a TV, with wireless mouse and keyboard, I used the Libreelec 9.2.6. USB-boot install process.

Unfortunately, Chrome is not working for me (Same problem described here: https://forum.libreelec.tv/thread/21756-...post137732 )

The question is: If I fix the chrome problem, do I have some chance to reproduce Filmin in the browser, just like a linux/windows/mac do?

Thanks in advance.
