Is it possible to rate individual songs?
#1
Hey guys,

I have the habit of rating songs while a listen to them, so I can easily make playlists of "five stars" rated songs and so on.

So far, I haven't figured it out how to do that with Kodi, most specially using a remote app such as Kore or Yatse.

I'm sure there's a way to do that, right? Could you help me out?

Thanks!

Yatse should be able to do that remotely. Also, you could assing buttons on your remote for rating. THIS ADDON should come in handy.

When I try to rate a song using Yatse, it rates the whole album, not the song itself. Weird...

And yes, I'm aware of Keymap Editor. However, most of the time I control Kodi from my cellphone, using either Kore or Yatse.

Thanks anyway

If you want support or FAQ for Yatse I suggest that you visit their web site https://community.yatse.tv

Yatse certainly supports setting the rating of the currently playing song

Just tried, and it rated the playing song  and only that song so not sure what you are seeing.

Generally myself I rate songs on TADB website then sync those ratings back to all my HTPC's. I usually get the ratings automatically from last.fm but often also choose them myself.

Could you show me how you're doing it?

Whenever I rate individual songs, all songs of the same album get the same rating...Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Thanks!

This is not a support site for Yatse visit https://community.yatse.tv
But anyway it is very easy to use, let's see if these images help you:

While music is playing swipe up to see the currently playing song

Click on the star icon

This sets the rating for the current song, however to see it in Yatse you then need to resync the database (by long swipe hold down) because ratings may have been changed from Kodi UI or other remote app. This is tedious but true for all playback history based data, it has needs a resync with Kodi before it shows.

After sync you can see that the rating is only applied to the song, not the others of the same album. So for example showing the songs for that album

Thanks a lot, Dave!

Yep, resync did the trick. Smile

Anyway, I did try to use Yatse support forum, but I honestly didn't like the developer's attitude, so I've unsubscribed.

Thanks again for the help!
