Solved Trouble Adding Nas as source
#1
Update: Removed questions via I fixed a lot of what I asked...
Basically, I have a Synology NAS and LibreElec keeps saying my SMB connection "Operation not permitted."
Works great on my phone and laptop, but not LibreElec.
Trying to figure that out...

Pretty easy Wink

Make sure your NAS either supports SMB2 (with username and password) and make sure, you added the source via the "Add network location". Then select "Windows Network (SMB)" option at the upcoming dialog (default AFAIK) and fill out the window (IP, username, password, path to share).

If your NAS doesn't support SMB2, either navigate to the LibreELEC settings (not the Kodi settings) and set the min and max SMB version to "min = SMB1" and "max = SMB2"

or if you are on Kodi 18 already you could also try the Kodi system settings: https://kodi.wiki/view/Settings/Services/SMB_Client

and select the same there as well ("min = SMB1" and "max = SMB2")

Be aware, that we DO NOT recommend to use SMB1 connections because those are known vulnerable.

Notta.
I changed to SMB1 min, max 2.
I tried just clicking the NAS name and still no access.
I manually added the path as you posted instead, same error.

Tried Kodi only instead of LIbreelec. No.

It's gotta be a libreelec thing vs this NAS. Synology 218
Old nas was search and click.

The battle continues.

Update : I got NFS via NAS folder permissions.
SMB next

I got it working...
I added 1 folder to NFS and SMB just started working. I did nothing. It asked for my NAS pass after I picked a folder, but that's it.

I don't get it, but I take it. Thanks for the assist!
