Win Testers needed ! - HW video decoding re-work (DXVA2)
#31
I did test the release and the stereoscopic issue is still there. It seems that it does not always happen instantly when playing a movie.
I've tested with the sample clip from https://kodi.wiki/view/Samples#3D_Test_Clips and then the file https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwxFVkl...ZxcjA/view
When playing some 30s of the clip all seems good, but when jumpinmg to the beginning of the clip via keyboard key one or two times then the "jumping" will start insantly. It's like the imgae is going back and forth (only the right part)

I have attached a debug log: https://paste.kodi.tv/selenifalu.kodi
Maybe you can reproduce it when jumping to the beginning of the clip several times. If not, any ideas how to log this? It may be CPU related somehow. It looks like something is getting out of sync.

what happening with Adjust display refresh rate disabled?
#36
@afedchin : Well, you have identified the issue Big Grin With Adjust display refresh rate disabled the issue does not occur. Just for my understanding, does this mean that in a SBS or OU movie left/over viedo part and the right/under video parts are treated somehow separatly when decoded and may have diffenrent refresh rates or maybe one of the parts has a wrong refresh rate? I thought that both parts share the same refresh rate. Can the issue be fixed with the root cuase identified?

in TAB/SBS movies left and right view coded in the same picture. they are just one frame. there is no difference at all. I just don't understand how changing refresh rate can affect video rendering.

I see no more green borders on videos, and everything looks smooth so far, I'll keep testing in week end. I'm on a GT1030.
I was hoping this refactor would have also fixed my problem with DXVA rendering, passthrough and renderCapture, but it doesn't (using Pixel Shader instead of dxva works anyway).

Are the changes also made in the latest nightly or must i stick with the version that is on page 1?
#40
nightlies do not have these changes

Looking to test this, but the PDB file doesn't seem to be there anymore?

Sorry, but without an activity in the thread for a month, testing was closed.
