Chapters in split video files
#1
Hello there!

I have a movie that's split to two DVDs, which I ripped into 2 MKVs.

Even though the media setting Combine split video items is OFF, after scanning those files into my library, they appear as one movie. That would be OK, but apparently only the chapters of the first MKV are available on playback (Or the chapters of the 2nd MKV overwrite the ones from the 1st one). Is that a Kodi bug, because the first MKV has chapters from say 0:00:00 to 1:40:00 and the second MKV has chapters in a similar range (i.e. not starting some time after 1:40:00)?

I'd be OK with having those two MKVs appear as two separate files in my Movie library and manually start the 2nd one after the 1st has finished. Is there a trick how to achive that? Currently the MKVs are named My.Split.Movie.dvd1.mkv and My.Split.Movie.dvd2.mkv.

Thanks!

I would just use mkvtooknix to concatenate them into one mkv.

Yeah, there's always that. Having it do Kodi transparently when 'joining' split files would be a nice feature, though.
