Release IPTV Merge
That wouldn't be anything to do with this add-on.

Hello all,

I am running Kodi v20.2 on a Google TV and have IPTV Simple Client v20.11.0 and IPTV Merge v0.24.7 installed.

I have 2 concerns:

1) NOT THAT IMPORTANT: IPTV Merge is not showing status updates when performing a merge when "Merge every x hours" has been activated by expired hours. On the other hand when Manually running a merge it shows status updates in the top right corner of the screen.

2) IMPORTANT: The "Importing Guide from Clients" which should happen after the Merge is not occurring (therefore EPG is not updated) after performing a merge when "Merge every x hours" has been activated by expired hours. On the other hand when Manually running a merge the "Importing Guide from Clients" occurs and the EPG is filled with information.

Seems to have started to happen recently (latest version or last couple of versions?)

On Windows 10, I  have installed Stremium for Sling, IPTV Merge, & IPTV simple (& NextPVR OTA). Everything looked okay, and the guide showed as I set up. When I got up today, all the sling channels (except for about three) showed 'No Information Available.' I tried to clear the guide, & reran iptv merge but no luck.


I wanted to upload a log through the Kodi File Uploader but I keep getting an error, when I try. (Not sure if this is correct but I went to the log, copied it, and pasted it to hastebin, https://paste.kodi.tv/obuvedocut.kodi (If this is incorrect, is there an alternate way to post).

Anything I might be missing?

have you got merge running on a timer? otherwise the data will become outdated right?
If you Force run a merge - did the data show?
tried kodi settings > pvr > clear data?

Initial I had it set to merge after 12 hours, and now have changed it to merge at 3 a.m.

I ran merge a couple of times & still the same.

I did clear both of the data under general & guide

so its still not showing after a forced merge?
Does the stremium website guide work for the same provider?

It was not. The guide for Sling is working for Stremium.

I reran iptv simple and the sling part of the guide populated, and looks like it is through five days as my per my setting. So at this point it looks okay.

Do you have any comments or solutions to my problems?

It is a long process everytime I open Kodi to watch TV as I need to manually run IPTV Merge (as I don't know whether it has run as it doesn't provide notifications that it is running even though it is) then clear the Guide data for it to "Importing Guide from Clients" to get a usable TV Guide.

As of Wednesday 22nd November Pluto TV Channels have no entries in the EPG.

Was working prior to this date.

I currently have Kodi installed on three devices: two Firestick 4K Max's and a Sony Android TV. All were running Kodi v19.5, as per advice due to some issues I was having in the past with v20.

Today, I have tried upgrading one of the Firesticks to Kodi v20.2 - I force stopped Kodi in the Firestick's Settings, deleted its cache and data, then uninstalled v19.5 before installing v20.2 with IPTV Merge v0.24.7

I am now experiencing a problem that seems to be very similar to an issue that I had previously - see posts 607 to 610 in this thread. Last time, @matthuisman found a bug.

The issue that I am now having is this:
Whichever channel is first in the playlist, (eg "South Park"), appears as the first channel in the EPG in whichever genre is last in the "#EXTGRP" line, (eg "Merry Christmas!"), in addition to its correct genre. If I delete the first channel in the playlist, the problem then affects whichever channel then comes first. If I re-arrange the order of the genres in "#EXTGRP", the channel still also appears at the top of the last one - ie remove the "Merry Christmas!" genre from "#EXTGRP" and the first channel also appears under "Sports".

This problem is only affecting the Kodi v20.2 installation, the two devices still on v19.5 do not display this issue.

Does no one have any comment or help with my issue in the previous post please? Am I the only one who produces their own playlist, and is experiencing this "problem"?

I have also posted this on Github, but copying here in case others are seeing the same thing:

I have had an issue recently with a dual appearance of a single channel in my IPTV playlist appearing twice in the EPG, on Kodi v20 only - see post #641 in this thread. @matthuisman provided an update yesterday for IPTV Merge to v0.24.8

I think that this update has had an unintended consequence - at least for me:

On my Kodi installations I also use the TV-Headend plugin to add British free satellite channels. These appear on the EPG as genres "Freesat" and "Regional" and sit neatly at the end of the top row, after all of the IPTV genres listed in my playlist. The satellite channels get their EPG data "over-the-air".

Since Merge's upgrade yesterday, The satellite channels have not been updating EPG data, but the IPTV channels are still fine. I have tried clearing the Guide data in both locations in Kodi. Although it usually takes a few minutes for the EPG data to repopulate, (sometimes up to 10 minutes for all of the satellite channels), I still have no EPG data for the satellite channels after 2 hours. The satellite channels can still be viewed, just no EPG.

Again, this issue only affects my Firestick with the Kodi v20 installation, both devices using Kodi v19 are still working fine, even though they have also upgraded to Merge v0.24.8

Am I correct in linking this to the Merge update - or is it just a co-incidence?

If I disable IPTV Merge and IPTV Simple Client, the satellite channels EPG populates correctly.

Whereas the previous issue that the update solved was annoying, no EPG data for any of my satellite channels is far more problematic.

If the "solution" is to revert to Kodi v19.5 on this Firestick, then I'm happy to do that - I wanted to test v20 again as I'm concerned about my installations becoming out of date and unsupported in the future?
