subtitles are not displayed correctly in Kodi 18.0
#1
Hello forum,

after upgrading Kodi from 17.6 to 18.0 subtitles are no longer properly displayed. Instead of seeing the video overlayed by the subtitles, I'm only seeing a black screen with a white rectangle at the bottom when a subtitle is visible. Please see a sample screen shot at https://postimg.cc/mPPxkssx

My setup:

Linux distribution: Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS
Kernel: Linux kino 4.15.0-45-generic #48~16.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jan 29 18:03:48 UTC 2019 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

CPU: AMD A10-7700K APU with Radeon™ R7 Graphics (family: 0x15, model: 0x30, stepping: 0x1)

Install method: DEB packages from PPA at http://ppa.launchpad.net/team-xbmc/ppa/ubuntu

Git revision: Kodi 18.0 Git:20190128-d81c34c (Linux x86 64-bit)

Instruction to reproduce the issue:
- start Kodi, play HD video (source: mkv file) and enable subtitles
- I see this issue on all mkv files I have available

The debug log can be found here: https://0bin.net/paste/XkvUHJRk3g+Wg5PO#...vgLsgsyGL2

My rough guess is that the issues is somehow related to the following error messages from the Kodi log:

    17:26:16.296 T:140641638250880   ERROR: CVdpauTexture::MapRGB error register output surface: 1281

Thanks for any help on this issue!
