Solved Kodi Crash at launch- "Unable to Load Profile"
#1
Guys,
I am not sure what happened but although I have been running Kodi 18.0 without any problem for months, it suddenly crashed and now I can't get it to run anymore...
I tried to figure it out myself updating Ubuntu with all latest packages (thinking it had to do with dependencies) and when I realized it was Kodi itself, going through all threads I could find on the topic.
But no success so far. So I need your help !!
Here is my Kodi crashlog:

When I opened guisettings.xml and profiles.xml in .kodi/userdata , both files are completely empty.

So again, I am really looking for your help me figure out how to recover.
If you tell me the step, I am pretty sure I can work it out although I am not a computer expert.

delete the empty files. If it still does not work, rename or delete the whole .kodi dir

Thank you so much wsnipex !
It worked right away as soon as I deleted the files.
I guess it was too simple to think about it ...
