Juddering at start of movie
#1
Hi - i bought a very cheap 95m (1G 8G) box a while back to see if it would be a sensible replacement for an ageing WDTV. Immediately there was a problem with 5.1 sound dropping out and i kind of binned the idea, but recently i've overcome that by running Kodi 16 under LibreELEC from an SD card. Having got used to the Kodi interface i'm fairly pleased with the set up but i do find a lot of juddering (dropped frames?) at the beginning of HD movies. It seems to settle down after a minute or two and the further the movie progresses the more seldom it happens. I tried upgrading the SD card from a class 4 Kingston to class 10 Evo Plus but it made no difference.

Is this likely to be a hardware issue? Perhaps running LibreElec from the NAND would solve this particular problem? Or should i buy a high end (Minix?) player - i don't mind splashing out if it will definitely solve the problem but don't want to waste my money. I'm really only looking for a replacement for the WDTV that's a bit more reliable/versatile and plays 4k/HEVC and the newer audio codecs.

Any help and suggestions would be most appreciated, but please bear in mind i'm very new to all this and not too tech-savvy!

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Use the Kodi Paste Site. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum

OK - thanks for the response. I'll have a go at this over the weekend.
