Hi,
I upgraded to Kodi 18, and I could not access any of my shares (which I access thorugh ssh). I first searched the wiki (https://kodi.wiki/view/SFTP) which said SFTP support should be in place. Then i lurked the forums, where I found a lot of conflicting information:
Also, I am wondering why such support was dropped or disabled by default. I guess it was for making Kodi smaller, but I wonder how much space did it save. For sure, at the current stage, with no clear migration guide for those using ssh, it's a pain.

- Some users were able to recover SFTP functionality via an add-on in the "Virtual File Systems" category. Such category does not even show up in my installation. Manually upgrading the add on repository did not work. Te category also looks empty on the web (https://kodi.tv/addons/browse?keyword=&c...=title+ASC), and nothing can be found by searching for sftp / ssh / vfs / file system... looks just like the addon is not there
- Some users installed a debian package. I'm on Arch, I'd like to avoid installing foreign packages if possible
