Android Video file dont work, dimension 0 B
#1
Hello everyone,
I have an Amazon Fire stick tv v1 with kodi 18.0 installed.
I use it to play my video files from an external HD linked to my router by USB.
The connection between kodi and video files is with SMB protocol.
In a folder i have all episodes of an anime. Examined with mediainfo they seems to be all with the same codec (mp4 h.264 720p).
In the video list, for each file, kodi display name and dimension. Some of those files dont work, cant be played and display "0 B" as dimension. Those files on pc and on kodi installed on Windows work without problems.
I searched everywhere a solution but cant find it.
Anyone know what can be the problem and what can i do to solve it?
Thanks a lot to everyone.

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Use the Kodi Paste Site. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum

Hello,
I found out the problem. My router didnt recognize file name with special character or accent letters. I changed the name and now it works.
Now i only need to understand why kodi very often buffer the video while playing. I Read it could be the low wifi, but i have a range extender to improve it and the online streaming go smooth.
Any idea? Could the reason of buffering be showed in the debugging log if i make a new one?
Thanks again

It might reveal something. Provide it and somebody might be able to spot the problem.

The special characters would explain all the errors in the last log you provided.
