hi all I'm kinda stuck ive set up Mysql 8.0 community server on fedora 28.

and im using Kodi 18.1

i created the user for kodi and did GRANT ALL On *.* TO 'kodiuser';

then i did

FLUSH PRIVILEGES

\q to quit

i sorted the advancedsettings.xml and put it in the userdata folder for kodi.

when i boot up kodi and i try to scan my media into my library nothing happens, even if i try to update the library at start up

have you any clue what could be going wrong

i stumbled across this on the kodi wiki about setting up mysql

Please use only supported versions of the MySQL or MariaDB server. As of January 2019, this is MySQL in at least version 5.6 or MariaDB in at least version 5.5.

to my mind that means mysql version 5.6 or higher.

if im wrong installing mysql 5.6
