Beta [Please Test] New Music Scrapers
#31
I updated manually all the albums that weren't scraped in the first place. It actually didn't take me long. On my ~400 albums library, approximately: If we put aside the fact that it doesn't automatically scrape between 20% and 30% of my music, it couldn't scrape only 1%. That's awesome. I had never seen my kodi library that much complete. Thanks a lot!

I just installed Kodi 19 and tested these scrapers on my music library (~400 albums). Here is my log: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/DPz58gcgWx/

I see that all my music is not scraped, and I have to manually update the albums. It generally works by updating them so I'm wondering why they haven't been scraped during the first library scan. They are not mentioned in the logs so no errors are reported on them. And in the settings, I chose to prioritize online information over local information so I guess it is supposed to scrap all albums.

thanx for testing, much appreciated!

sadly, when looking for errors, a regular kodi log is far from useful.
you'll need to activate debug logging in kodi before you start scraping.
(Settings > System > Logging > Enable debug logging)

Oh yes sorry. So I enabled the debug log and imported my library again. Surprisingly it scraped everything it could this time, so only the albums with labeling errors remained unscraped. The new scrapers are really good.
Here is the log, if you want to check things out: https://we.tl/t-XXklEhHGpH

Let me know if you want me to test other features.

@vicdm I just had a look at your scraping results. I'm assuming the new scraper also relies on Musicbrainz heavily. The "Mansfield TYA" album actually exists in the MB database whereas the "La Fraîcheur" album doesn't. So assuming you've tagged your files with MBIds at least one more should have been scraped.

You could always add the missing album to MB yourself. It's very easy if a Discogs entries exists, there's a userscript that will help you import such entries into MB.

@vicdm thanx for the detailed log.
i had a look at the 4 albums you mentioned in your previous post, that either did not scrape or were scraped incorrectly..

Mansfield TYA - Corpo-Inferno
you've labeled the artist as Mansfield TYA but it's listed on MusicBrainz as Mansfield.TYA
it's indeed exists in Discogs as well, and the fact it did not scrape those results is something i will fix

La Fraicheur - Rosee
you've labeled it as Rosée EP but according to MusicBrainz, the correct title is Rosee

The XX - Remixes
confirmed, i'll fix that issue as well

Tzusing ‎- A Name Out Of Place Pt. II
it's tagged as A Name Out Of Place in the id3 tags instead of A Name Out Of Place Pt. II

Indeed. Btw this is strange, on Discogs the Artist of Corpo-Inferno is Mansfield TYA but going to its page it becomes Mansfield.TYA

Iirc, I did try Rosee when updating the album the first time I imported the library but it could find it. I'll try again.

@vicdm

Try tagging your music files using MusicBrainz Picard... https://picard.musicbrainz.org/

Have a read of sect 4.2 & 4.3 for scripts you should add to the software... https://kodi.wiki/view/Music_tagging#Tagging
