Here are the steps to configure Daily Weather Forecast as a widget for the Weather main menu item:(2020-07-23, 12:37)bsoriano Wrote:(2020-07-23, 04:36)TheRealDeadMan Wrote: Hi @bsoriano,
Having used the default skin for a few minutes, I noticed that the 7 day Weather forecast boxes show on the home window while scrolling by.
Any chance you are able to do this in Amber, instead of having to click "Weather" and then going to another screen? Otherwise it's just a blank section when scrolling by.
And then, if we do select "Weather" it will go into its screen; then we are also able to select the daily weather, view maps and charts.
Thanks,

@TheRealDeadMan, yes, you can configure "Daily Weather" as a shelf (widget) for any main menu item, and as of Amber version 3.2.99/3.3.99, you can configure automatic scrolling for the shelf(widget). Please let me know if you need some assistance in doing this and I can post detailed steps on how to do that. Thanks.

OK thanks, I'll have a go at it and search around the forum to see what I am missing. I have always had the standard weather stuff set up - and now with API keys to see the maps, which was cool.
1. Go to Settings, Skin Settings, Home Layout, and select Customize Home Menu and Shelves:
2. On the left hand side of the resulting dialog, go down until you get to the Weather main menu item:
3. Once there, on the right hand side, go down until you get to Shelf 1, and select that (that will configure widget 1 for this menu item; Amber supports up to 6 widgets per menu item):
4. The widget we want is offered as part of Amber's Default Shelves, so select that:
5. Go down until you find Weather, and select that:
6. Select Daily Weather Forecast:
7. Leave the title as is, or change it to whatever you want, select "Done" when you are finished:
8. Now you should be back to the Shelf 1 configuration. Go down to "Atuomatic Scroll Time" and select that:
9. Select the autoscroll interval that you want from the resulting dialog:
10. You should be back to the Shelf 1 configuration, and it should look something like this:
11. Now you can go back all the way to the main menu (pressing Back multiple times, or Esc multiple times), and if you go to the Weather menu item, you should see something like this:
And it should srcroll automatically, every 7 seconds. You can also choose to have this widget be two rows high, or three rows high.
I think this is what you were looking for. Please let me know if it indeed is, or if you have any other issue. Thanks.
