Hey folks,

I just upgraded my hardware today,
running kodi 18.1, Ryzen 5 2400G on MSI B450m Mainboard, linux kernel 4.19.23.
vaapi and vdpau is enabled.

Playback (also of 4K content) works as expected and without hassles, but my TV does not show any PQ info regarding HDR.
If I share the same file over samba and use the TVs internal media player, the HDR font shows up.

I did not find any setting in kodi itself to enable/disable HDR support - so I suppose it is enabled by default if the hardware is capable (which should be).

How can I test / debug if HDR is enabled and why the TV is not reporting so?

HDR output is not supported on Linux at this time. I'm not just referring to Kodi on Linux when I say that. It's not supported on Linux at all. The infrastructure to do so is still in development.

I read across reddit but did not find any reliable information - do you have any further info whats the current status quo on HDR for linux?
