I'm trying to something that I thought would be pretty simple. Basically, anytime a video plays (or any media is that's easier), I want a script to be notified with the video's metadata or path to the file being played.
I can't find a way to create "hooks" in Kodi so that Kodi calls my script on certain events, e.g., playing media.
Has anyone done this before? Are there any docs around for this?
Thanks! Hopefully, I'm not being dumb and missing something obvious.
(Oh, and this is on Linux and the script is Python.)
