Nvidia Shield TV : impossible to update music library
#1
Hello

I've been using kodi for a loooooong time (installed it on my first xbox when it was still called xbmc).
I usually handled minor issues by myself but here I feel stuck so asking for help...

I run kodi 18.1 on a nvidia shield 2015 with latest update.
All my media (video and music ) are stored on my lan on a synology nas on an NFS share. Network is wired gigabit.

My music library is fairly large (around 1.5 TB for 75000 tracks).
Due to recent tests and crashes I deleted all my kodi config and started from scratch.

But when I try to update my music library, it works 2-3 minutes and then kodi crashes and I end up on android tv homescreen.
I don't have any illegal / piracy addons installed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Providing the full debug log (wiki) and the crashlog would be a nice start. Smile

Thanks for the link, I didn't know how to upload it. Perfect system, very convenient...

@nico1375

What a terrible log, it is full of "Device Discovery" and Joystick Controller spam. Do you have some Component Logging enabled in Settings>System Settings>Logging. If you do, disable it (but keep debug mode enabled) and repost the log. Make sure you let it crash as you stated in your first post, as this log does not show a crash.

You are using the Log Uploader, so read this here... https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid2803146

Moved to Music.

No.

You state the following in your first post.

That is not captured in the log.

You are uploading the wrong log. The one you provided is 38 seconds long. Did you read the link I gave you?

Yes I read it.
I upload the old log.
I did it again and it's always the same, the log is 30 seconds long.
Actually it says "error posting te old log file, file is too large, max size is 1 MB."
So it probably posts only the new log which is irrelevant.
How can I post the old one if it is too large?

Ok.

You need to manually upload it. Try https://paste.ubuntu.com/ as they allow larger logs.

Look up the location of your log file here... https://kodi.wiki/view/Log_file/Advanced#Location

@nico1375 are you able to provide a logcat ?
- adb logcat -c (clears the log)
- launch kodi / scan library / force the crash
- adb logcat -d | pastebinit (and provide the resulting URL here)

Thx

Hi
Sorry for the late answer.
How am I supposed to use adb?
Should I connect the shield to my computer?
If so using what, usb?
