Bug Unusual high GPU utilization.

Exclamation
Hi Community,

When using kodi 18.1 stable to stream live tv from an libreelec backend (details here), the GPU GF GTX 1080 on my main system with kodi runs really, really hot.
I have a screenshot that demonstrates the problem have a look here over 70% on the GPU and ~20% CPU.
TVheadend client/server is on version 4.1.7-44, Tvh-addon v9.0.118 (HTSP v27)

The GPU driver version does not influence the problem, even after updates uninstall/reinstall there is no change of the situation.
I've also uninstalled Kodi and started from scratch (I deleted all Kodi related data from my userprofile/program directory)
Also that didn't resolve the problem.

More:
When I move the cursor around within a Kodi window (system menu) main PC also utilization is spiking up to 39% see here https://pasteboard.co/I9JvjOH.png
When I playback a movie, no matter what codec, system utilization spikes up to over 70% too see here https://pasteboard.co/I9Jx193.png

So I am really wondering what could cause that sort of issues, and the only suspicion I'd have that somehow there's a problem with the rendering.
Not sure if that's a Direct-x issue or if there's some other GPU offloading is causing that particular issue but it's quite annoying as it
1) feels sluggish. 2) consumes a lot of power and 3) spins the GPU fans and let's the entire system run way to warm for watching a movie.

OK if that thing becomes hot when gaming or rendering a 3d scene but some wimpy media playback or rendering a Kodi window Huh?
There must be something wrong, please help !

System specs: Core i7 8700K, 32G ddr4 Ram, GF GTX 1080

Questions ?
Sorry I couldn't edit the thread so i have to comment myself: The driver details are here: http://pasted.co/3ad1e34c
I would be very curious if there's anyone having the same issues like me. Or if this is an isolated incident.
I also assume that having G-Sync on my 120HZ uwqhd monitor doesn't cause that issue.

OK Found and Fixed it myself !!!!
I have disabled G-Sync in the Nvidia control panel to see if that helps - and indeed it did !
Even when I re-enabled it, GPU stays low and cool.

Not sure yet if that works permanently but i will keep this thread updated...
