As the title says, I'm unable to enable the joystick add on. I'm trying to use my xbox 360 controller for kodi on lubuntu bionic beaver LTS and stumbled on a post telling me I needed to install the package "kodi-peripheral-joystick". So I did but kodi does not seem to want to work with it. When I start kodi it says the add on is not compatible for some reason. If anyone knows what my issue is, I'd love to hear it !

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Use the Kodi Paste Site. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum

That specific binary add-on got a fix lately and maybe it has something to do with that. Please get us a log so we are able to see:

- which Kodi version you are using
- which error message is in the log in regard of that add-on

And please don't tell us what you are using. Simply get us the log which contains all the info we need.

Also please get us the outputs of the followiing commands:

apt-cache policy kodi | pastebinit

and:

apt-cache policy kodi-peripheral-joystick


I'm able to install the joystick binary pretty fine using Ubuntu 18.04 and Kodi doesn't complain about any kind of incompatibility. So generally I can't reproduce your problem
