Kodi and Philips TV
#1
I'm trying to use Kodi to stream (UPnP/DLNA) video files (mp4, mkv, avi) from my PC to a Philips TV (both wired connections, same subnet). I can see the video files just fine on the TV, but not one will play ("Playback Error"). Is there some way to transcode the files, preferably something that doesn't take longer to transcode than it does to watch the movie in the first place?

The TV is a Philips model 46PFL3608/F7

Kodi does not transcode.

Kodi is meant to be plugged directly into your monitor/tv via HDMI and played directly from your pc.

If all you are after is uPNP, then there are better alternatives than Kodi available.
