this bug is affecting alla the 18.x versions.
If I have a source filesystem containing ripped DVD in the classic structure VIDEO_TS, .vob, etc. and I configure Kodi to point at it, after the scraping terminates, I have a thumbnail for every piece of the movie.
If the same source is mounted as a SAMBA share, no problem at all.
Of course if the movie is a single file (.mkv, mp4, avi, etc.) then the problem is not applicable.
I am interested in using HTTP source, since for slow speed networks HTTP is much better than SAMBA
(to be clear, I al trying to view movies with Kodi from one location that is connected to the main location with a VPN)
