Req Tiny Media Manager to support additional certifications
#1
Would it be possible to add M and MA as movie ratings?
Would it be possible to have tmm ignore files/folders that are hidden (like Kodi does)?

Please and thank you.
#2
1) Maybe. From what country are M/MA?

2) We ignore some sort of hidden files/folders, when starting with a dot (Unix style)
But i guess, you just mean the hidden flag in windows...? should be also doable...

1. At least, AU, NZ, UK, but take a look at these examples, which are listed as USA and others. M and MA15+ (Which is often abbreviated to MA in Australia)

2. Yes, the windows attribute "H".

thank you.

1) works for me.
Set your certification language to Australia (scraper settings), and scraped "Escape Plan 2: Hades!" with IMDB.
You can only scrape ONE language!

Certification MA15+ scraped...
... and correctly written to NFO (NFO settings - certification style)

Great. That definitely fixes the MA15+.
Unfortunately, the M rated films are still showing as Unknown.

just tested this example and it has been detected the right way: NZ:M has been detected using the imdb scraper

I think Yanta is from Australia, so wants Australia:M to be compatible with studio icon lookups in skin. NZ uses a different icon.

Hello again @Karellen
I am indeed.

It would be nice to have everything localized, but it's not an absolute necessity. If using NZ as the certification country in TMM gives me all the ratings that we have here, then I can live with that.

The first thing I do when I start TMM is to switch to the Media Files tab (actually, it would be nice if TMM remembered the last tab used and started with that).

sorry - I missed that you are wanting certs for Australia..
BUT - this is also working for me? Just make sure you have Australia chosen in the settings

on the other side: IMDB is awful to scrape; they _can_ offer different web pages based on your IP address - maybe this hits you :/ I'd suggest to take as much as possible from TMDB!

Look at this one... https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1131724

This is what I see in TMM... https://ibb.co/9rqwcX4

And my settings... https://ibb.co/1sL13WQ

So I changed the scraper to Kodi: The Movie Database, set the tmdbcertcountry to au and re-scraped the above movie. The cert stays as "unknown".

Just noticed notification: "Could not scrape - no supported ID available"; OK So the problem is that scraping is failing for every movie, otherwise the M cert would be there?

I deleted everything and started from scratch using Kodi: The MovieDatabase for the scraper and set cert country to au.
The only movie that had MA15+ was Escape Plan 2: Hades, the one I manually scraped yesterday.
No other movies have M or MA15+ certs.

Also, when I attempt to download missing artwork or manually scrape any movies I get the following notifications;
  • Could not scrape - No supported ID available
  • Could not rename
  • Could not download artwork renaming temp file failed
  • Could not download trailers for movie: java.lang.IinterruptedException
Is there a user manual for tmm? (I've read the wiki and faq), but I'm not understanding how this works. When I update source, tmm scans the folders in the source location and adds metadata based on what? The contents of the nfo or is there where it is scraping the metadata from online. Once the scan is complete a second step, getting mediainfo runs. What does that step do?

I'm going to delete everything again and scrape using imdb and see if anything is different

please do not use any "Kodi: ..." scraper unless you really need to!
these are the original Kodi scrapers (which can be used inside Kodi) which have been made "compatible" with tmm.. they are not as integrated as the native tmm scrapers. If you make more tests, please use the tinyMediaManager scrapers (maybe you have used the Kodi IMDB scraper and all your posts from above refer to this scraper?)

Fair enough. I clearly don't understand this program. I've tried both the Kodi: TMDB and IMDB scrapers.

Earlier you said "Take as much as possible from TMDB". So where is TMDB on the MetaData Scraper settings?

I deleted the whole folder and recreated everything. After updating the source and getting mediainfo the MA15+ and M ratings were not present, except for Escape Plan 2. I selected all movies, and rescraped and then most of the certs were updated - That took about 7 hours, and generated over 3,500 errors.

Anyway, I think this has gone about as far as it should... The original request was to add support for M and MA15+ certs for Australia, which are already there.

you have multiple scrapers available in tmm:
Image

1. this is a no brainer (I use it myself): TMDB has the best API of all scrapers and it has a ton of data in its database; is my 1. choice
2. IMDB is the most complete source out there, but offers NO API and has a constantly changing website which requires adaption in tmm every time they change it.. most users prefer this
3. the new universal scraper offers multiple scrapers for every field in the database. here you can mix tmdb and imdb if you like (especially if you really need something from imdb and want the translatable data from TMDB).

by using #2 I could fetch all the certifications you have mentioned

Might be a no-brainer for you. I've only been using the software for 48 hours.
Using 2 above I do not get the certs unless I update source, get mediainfo then manually rescrape every movie which took 7 hours and got about 80% of the M's and MA15's.
I'm now trying your 3 above.
I was looking for an entry called "TMDB", hence the confusion. I was not looking for "themoviedb.org".

Anyway, I have bigger issues than the certs. I have about 1,000 hidden folders. tMM scans every folder in the source.

So adding an exclusion for \\server\folder1 in the following structure..

\\server\folder1\folder2
\\server\folder1\folder3

Will only exclude the contents of \\server\folder1. folder2 and folder3 will be scanned unless I add exclusions for each of those.

With 1,000 of those it's taking time to add them. That is my current focus.  Actually, its taking forever to add exclusions 1 by 1. I think I'll wait see if handling of hidden folders is added

Thanks for all your help with the certifications.
