what best setting for color nvidia rbg or ycpcr 422 ?

Best bet is set as "let application control" for the best compatibility.

If you want the best possible picture quality set as 23hz before playing a video, set as RGB full dynamic range and 10/12 bits.
With this settings at 60hz hdr will not work properly because of the lack of bandwidth of HDMI 2.0.
But at 23hz this is possible.

Also set Kodi to change display refresh as always.
Disable tone mapping.

First glitch I've encountered. All my "MakeMKV" ripped 4K movies work with HDR except Terminator 2. It's the only movie that doesn't trigger HDR when played. Weird issue as all my other 4K HDR rips work fine.

I tried ripping the movie again with a newer version of MakeMKV but still the same issue. Does anyone else have this issue with Terminator 2 4K?

The code basically works by setting hdr on when the metadata flag is present.

If just one rip is not working properly maybe FFmpeg is not capable of capturing the metadata.
So if it triggers hdr it's possible there's no metadata to be passed to the display which means very dark image.

I can, during the week, work on a button combo to trigger hdr on if it's not detected, still turning it on, if FFmpeg doesn't see the metadata is a moot point.

This Matrix HDR Edition of kodi is really cool, I tested output 4K HDR passthrough metedata to 4K display monitor on my HTPC（GTX 1080）and UHD BD Menu，everything works fine.（Java Runtime Environment 8 and x64 version is necessary）
There is a bug feedback to you，When play a 4K movie（ISO or BDMV floder）the subtitles  in the UHD menu mode seem to be changed only through the original menu, can not be changed by the kodi subtitle setting. If you do not read the UHD menu, you will not have this problem with the main movie mode. Subtitles can be switched at will.

I'm testing different Java version and different support for uhd bd menu.

J river uses Java 7u80 but if I try to use this one Kodi and libbluray are unable to detect it.

Can you please post exactly what Java version you installed, the file name.

Also can you post a screenshot of you windows 10 path variables

Can confirm the same Terminator 2 4K HDR rip works with the Android version of Kodi 18.3. HDR is triggered when played. Thought I'd let you know. Loving your work so far.
