Solved My Kodi is constantly crashing

Dear Sir/Madam,

Went on holiday, and when i came back, my kodi install is crashing constatntly.

i.e lightdm is restarting, logging me out and back in.

I am using ubuntu 19.04 with kodi 18.3

Please help, my wife wants me to throw the mediapc out the window Smile

The forum moderators have determined that banned addons (wiki) are present on your system. To receive assistance here, these banned items must be removed. If a clean log is not submitted within 3 days, then the relevant post(s) will be removed after this time.

Sure i will remove them.

If you upload to paste.kodi.tv, banned addons (wiki) are automatically marked in orange.

Many of those scripts are orphaned (left behind and running even if you uninstall the banned addon (wiki) which dropped them), so you may like to consider what they may actually be doing and what effect this might be having on your system (hint, look at your thread title).

At this point I would be tempted to suggest you remove everything and start again with a fresh install...

Thanks Darren, yeah i cannot see any of those addons still being installed, so its leftovers (my install is over 11 years old) so its bound to have lots of old stuff hanging about.

OK, i will consider wiping the system, its very unstable atm, its now starting to hang as well.

Thanks for trying to help with this!

I took the plunge and wiped my system.

Took a day to sort it all out, but its worth it!

Its working flawlessly now!

Thanks to all kodi developers, you have made a great product!, and i will stay away from dodgy addons from now onwards!
