Thinking to upgrade to allow me to run 3-4 VMs in parallel rather than 2 now. Also need the single core speed for gaming on one of the three VMs.
Does this upgrade make sense?

Although there might be some people on this forum that have sufficient knowledge to answer your question, I think your question is more appropriate on a forum that is more dedicated to computer hardware (and games) specifically than on a forum which is touting a single, undemanding multimedia application.
As a total geek with sufficiently deep pockets, I'd say go for it.
