Hi everyone,
I'm having trouble with video playback in Kodi 18.3. Generally, playback is really smooth, but the audio seems to stutter or skip every once in a while. Maybe the video is also skipping a few frames, but it is hard to see, because it mostly occurs when there are quick cuts in the movie. I looked into the log file and there are a lot of CDVDClock::ErrorAdjust and ActiveAE::SyncStream events every time it happens. Not sure how else to describe it, I hope someone can help me with this.

Looks like you have some packet errors, ensure in settings/player sync and refresh are off. Investigate Seagate Expansion Drive is giving you full speed (some default to lower specs). Would like to see if you have this kind of packet loss with a 'local' drive video.  Keyboard controls (wiki) Ctrl+⇧ Shift+O and look for bottlenecks in delivery.

OK, thx for the suggestions.
I played Buck Bunny a few times from the local SSD. First time ( 17:12:44.901 ) is with the same settings as above, last time ( 17:29:59.321 ) with 'adjust display refresh rate' and 'sync playback to display' disabled. But it seems the issues are still there.
I enabled the codec info, but I wasn't quite sure what to look for. What I noticed was the audio queue saturation constantly going up and down, staying mostly at 96% but dropping below 90% a few times, even ~75% during the end titles. Dropped or skipped frames were always at 0, vq always at 99%, buffer at 0B 100%.

Great PulseAudio (wiki) information here. From what I can see, it looks like a data flow issue, check sec 6.5 for known problems.

^^ This is totall uncommon. It's an oldish codec from the 90s and it seems hw acceleration for it is not available.

Post the output of vainfo as well
