Why there no be an option in the services for mysql like spmc

It's always been assumed that as MySQL needs to be installed and configured separately from Kodi that any user doing this is advanced enough to be able to create/edit xml files. However some forks of Kodi like spmc have taken a different view that's it's convenient to have these settings in the GUI, however as far as I know no one has yet submitted a patch to add these settings to the GUI for Kodi.
