Yes, that did the trick! Interesting.... Just double checked alls file permissins and ownerships in my Roaming dir (Kodi user dir) as well as the kodi installation dir. Can't see a reason why i would have insufficient priviliges for that update. I guess it has to do with one or more skin files beeing already opened by Kodi during that update process which results in a file access problem on windows hosts.
It is even more interesting because all those previous updates worked just fine.
But in the end it doesnt really matter now that i know that workaround .
