Xbmc wierd playback
#1
When ever i try to play ANY content i just get the picture on the left up side of the screen with the colors all wrong and the rest is smudged for some reason on the rest of the screen - tried playing with the video modes with quality sampling, without quality sampling - messed with resolutions but still nothing.

I suspect its codecs but i have no idea what i should be doing, any tips?

Thanks

1. XBMC SVN: 14662 (compiled aug 4, 2008)
2. Ubuntu 8.04.1 updated 2008-08-04 22:36
3. i686
4. Install Method (SVN PPA) using this repo line:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/team-xbmc-svn/ubuntu hardy main
5. debug log: http://pastebin.com/m5b12b685

actually, I just tried video playback, it works at dazzling speeds compared to the other players on linux. only the color map is not in the right place, as 'splify' mentioned above. more details:

- fresh, and clean ubuntu install.

- ati 9600xt agp card (with restricted drivers), Amd Barton 2000+, nforce2 MoBo, 512Mb RAM.

- compiz disabled (with compiz anything looks the same, plus the flickering, but that's the ati driver issue)

- the screen, is actually split in four, the top left picture is the original, nothing missing, the top-right is repeating the last pixel column form the top-left image, the bottom-right, the last row of pixels from the top-left image. the bottomright is just a flashing empty box.

-color channels seem to be split in 3: blue, above originial top-left image; red, covering the four boxes (full image); and Green, twice as big as the full-image.

sorry for my poor english... I hope it will still be helpful for the developers.

You both need to read http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=30185 in its entirety. Never mind the title.
