actually, I just tried video playback, it works at dazzling speeds compared to the other players on linux. only the color map is not in the right place, as 'splify' mentioned above. more details:
- fresh, and clean ubuntu install.
- ati 9600xt agp card (with restricted drivers), Amd Barton 2000+, nforce2 MoBo, 512Mb RAM.
- compiz disabled (with compiz anything looks the same, plus the flickering, but that's the ati driver issue)
- the screen, is actually split in four, the top left picture is the original, nothing missing, the top-right is repeating the last pixel column form the top-left image, the bottom-right, the last row of pixels from the top-left image. the bottomright is just a flashing empty box.
-color channels seem to be split in 3: blue, above originial top-left image; red, covering the four boxes (full image); and Green, twice as big as the full-image.
