Hello Everybody,

I am glad to see that the new Kodi 18.4 can also run under Slackware on Raspberry Pi 4 with very good results.
For more information please see http://axes2solution.com/kodi-slackware.html

You should try using the officially supported ffmpeg 4.0.4 using popcornmix's leia_pi4 branch.  Pretty amazing HVEC performance on a Pi4.  I believe using newer ffmpeg versions will eventually cause breakage.

Thanks for the link. I will give it a try, especially since 4K HVEC decoding is done with software and does not look as good as Full HD. I will also try VC4 instead of V3D if it is any better in higher resolution areas.

For the target platform raspberry-pi an executable kodi-rbpi would be created. How do I start it on RPI?
What is the difference between kodi-x11, kodi-gbm, kodi-rbpi, kodi-standalone? Which one is better suited for RPI?
sorry for these dumb questions.

For RPi4 your only option is gbm.

A SlackBuild based on popcornmix's "hacky" leia_pi4 (18.5) is available at http://axes2solution.com/kodi-leia-pi4.html.

This is making me want to break back out my PI. Does anybody have a video of their PI running this by chance?
