I am running Kodi 17.6 on a Raspberry Pi, running LibreELEC (official): 8.2.5 (RPi.arm).  When I am attempting to watch a TV show that has been recorded, the following message appears in the log:
20:36:40.121 T:1848636320   ERROR: COMXCoreComponent::DecoderEventHandler OMX.broadcom.image_fx - OMX_ErrorInsufficientResources, insufficient resources

I am running the MythTV PVR addon, which is talking to MythTV on a Ubuntu host, running 16.04 LTS.  The version of MythTV is v0.28.2-6-g9031599 .

The TV show is properly captured by MythTV; I can display it on the computer that is running MythTV.  However, when I attempt to show it using Kodi, the screen image on the "play recording" menu is black, and the TV show does not play out.

I can post the complete log if this is desired, on paste.lkodi.tv

Can anyone help me to debug this problem?  Do I need to upgrade Kodi and/or MythTV first?

Did you shift the memory balance to the gpu a bit too far?
Providing the full kodi.log is always a good thing.

Since I do not know how to shift the balance, i expect that this is not the problem.
A copy of the full log is at http://ix.io/1Ykv .
