Wakes on Kodi startup but not from acessing source.
#1
Hi all.

I've been fighting with this for quite a while now. I finally got my Nvidia Shield TV Kodi to wakeonlan (WOL) when it starts.
By creating the userdata->wakeonlan.xml

But if I'm within the Kodi and access the wakeup remote servers on access
ie. select a directory I want to view.  on that server it won't wake it up!

Is there any other place the Wake-On-LAN or the wakeup remote servers looks for setting a .xml file I can edit?
It seems to NOT find the MAC address. ##:##:##:##:##:##
the server is set with DHCP with manual IP for the source a mac running osx 10.5.6 but all this wake stuff used to work before I switched to the ShieldTV.
and I can manually wake it with any other computer in the house.

Any idea?
Thanks!

Looks like it just needed a restart and now it seems to be working, Waking!
For those who have also had this problem. Here's what I did.

1. enable SMB share on SheildTV.  Enable SMB shares on NTV
2. Logged into SheildTv navigated to userdata folder and created a 'wakeonlan.xml' in a text editor if one did not exits.
3. Altered this xml to refelect my device  change IP and Mac ADDRESS.  as per this wakeonlan.xml
4. SAVE in userdata folder.
5. Exit Kodi and restart.

I can't tell you how long I've been fighting with this. But knock wood finally solved!
Hope this helps someone else!

Make sure you enable view hidden and the path for userdata can be found here: How to find path

The New problem is if the source is slept while in kodi it won't re-wake it.
This was working before V 19. so not sure if it's me or the Kodi Hahah!
