From other messages here on the forum, I suspect that Kodi might have an issue as the TV would need some memory and graphics hardware to work. Sony have a few models that users have found to run Kodi in a somewhat limited format. I suggest https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=252916 a small box would allow full advantage of this TV.

My first 4K TV was a Philips Android Tv a couple of years back. Yes, I could install Kodi onto it, but I found it to be very laggy and not a great picture quality compared to on my PC. Guess it depends on the spec of panel. Mine was a pretty cheap budget range, so maybe I got what I paid for. I sold it fairly quickly, opting instead for a better spec panel, but a less well known brand and combining that with the Nvidia Shield Android streaming box....Much better performance all round!

Hi! I have the 2019 70PUS7304 model and I haven't found any issues with Kodi so far. Playback is smooth on all of the videos and eventhough I'm not sure what audio settings I should use (I'm using passthrough), I haven't faced any issues with my atmos soundbar either.

@mx77, can you please do a Kodi Log when running Kodi next so others can see what sort of audio capabilities the Philips (I'm assuming Android TV) TV's have ?

Hi, it supports pretty much all available audio formats atm, including Atmos. However, I'll try to grab a log for you today.

Thx.
I believe you mean DD+/Atmos from either Kodi or built in Apps like Netflix.

Kodi Audio for you TV is standard stuff for recent Android TV Oreo or greater devices ie. everything but Dolby TrueHD/Atmos and DTS:X.

Nice to see it’s got a snappy ARM Mali G51 GPU in it - same as the ODROID N2 / FireTV Cube gen. 2 Smile
