HDR playback with an Nvidia 1030 DDR5
#1
Hi,

I have a 4k projector that supports HDR and had it connected to my gaming PC, which has a 980Ti in it.

I have a few HDR test files and it played them fantastically, jaw droppingly well.

But having it on my gaming PC isn't ideal so I bought a 1030 for my HTPC.

Although it plays all videos smoothly, the contrast is all messed up on the 4k HDR files. Like bleached.

So I guess it's not playing HDR files correctly.

It doesn't seem to be a bottleneck as such - CPU usage is low and the video playback itself is smooth.

I know the cable and projector are good because they work so well with the gaming PC.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make HDR beautiful on my HTPC?

Thanks!

Thanks! Looks very interesting. I'll try it as soon as I can.

Hopefully with my 1030 I can just 'be done with it'!!

Odd that HDR appeared to work on the gaming PC / 980Ti without using that build though.

Although, as I've never actually seen HDR, 'work' could just mean 'look less bleached'.
