Solved Problems with special chars (f. e. & or ") in EPG
#1
Hey there,

the addon has some problems with chars like & or " in the EPG.
Kodi / the addond shows the html entity code (& or " ) instead of the right character.
Everything looks fine in Vu+ OpenWebif.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think I did not have these problems when using TVH some weeks ago.

Kodi 18.5
Enigma2 Addon 3.28.9.1
OpenWebif 1.2.8 / VTi 14.0.5

Best regards

How does that data get onto your STB?

There shouldn’t be any URL encoded data in EPG entries delivered via OpenWebIf.

If it’s loaded from XML there should not be any need to escape quotes and ampersands as they would be part of the element body so would consider these unnecessary tags.

Note it will always load I ok on OpenWebIf as the content is rendered as HTML.

I did not change anything regarding EPG in VTI, so I think it's gettings its data OTA. But I'll check it after work ..
Anything else to check?

The only thing I can think of is it’s loading from XML with EPGImport and that’s where they come from.

What does it display as directly on the STB?

Just had a look at the STB, no EPG plugins installed like EPGimport.
On the STB (VU+ Uno 4k), no problems regarding this chars. Just saw a "&"..

edit: I updated OpenWebif manually to 1.3.8 (VTi feed only provides 1.2.8) - all problems gone :-)
