Hello

does exists a windows 10 mini-pc with hdmi 2.0 or 2.1 and min 8 GB RAM under 200 euro ?
I'm going mad to find it but I cannot find it, I can find only 4GB system and all minipc with 8GB or above costs around 300 euros.

If you know it please let me know thank you.

Thank you
Graziano

Do you need HDR - or are you happy with SDR over HDMI 2.0/2.1?

For €200 you're presumably looking at Celeron or Pentium CPUs (where Windows HDR support is an issue?) rather than Core i3/m3 and above.

The 8GB RAM requirement may also push you past the specs that Microsoft provide OEMs with low-cost Windows 10 licences, which means the purchase price has to include a full licence (which will be a significant chunk of the €200 price point, if you want Windows 10 as part of this).

Hello

I would have HDR too, however I could consider also SDR  over HDMI 2.0/2.1 solutions.
However I would have 8GB RAM with windows , windows preinstalled is not mandatory for me,  I could buy it separately .

Listing your exact requirements would be a better idea...such as.

1. Do you even need Windows ?
2. Do you need 4K HDR for Kodi ?
3. What about audio, regular 5.1 AC3 / DTS or HD audio ?

Because there are far cheaper virtually Plug n Play setups that will be a LOT less hassle and cheaper vs using 4K HDR with Windows Kodi.

1) I always used Kodi with Android and truly I am bored of it (for various reasons I do not list here), I would have Windows 10
2) no
3) regular 5.1 AC3 / DTS , I'll connect the minipc to RVx500D Yamaha

Thank you

thank you , excellent solution but it's not under 200 euros Oo . If I had money to spend, I would get an ASrock Deskmini 300 with AMD Ryzen 5 3400g , Noctua fan , 2*8 GB RAM , and a Western Digital WD SN500 500 GB but it costs between 500 and 600 euros Confused  Sleepy .

Curious to see how this worked out for you.

He hasn't visited the forum since his last post.

I find the N4100 chip is 'meh', compared to other onboard chips of that Intel generation.
I'm using a slightly faster J5005 Asrock board with a better UHD605 ipgu & passive cooling as a simple office PC.
It runs just about every video I throw at it, running Ubuntu 21.10 and Kodi 19.4.

I would recommend to save more money and build a i3-12100T (35w) based system, which is the best bang for the buck in this category, assuming Win10/11 as target. The 12gen iGpu does all mayor formats and anything else can be CPU decoded. I did test high bitrate, 4k, HDR via CPU and worked fine at 40% usage. The system feels super responsive and at 35w you can still use low profile CPU coolers and a 90w pico-psu in a mini case.

I'm happy with my system "now" on Win11, but took me weeks to setup HDR/Dolby Vision/Atmos correctly. I needed to switch to mpv.io as external player to solve most of the HDR issues.
I came from a SDR only setup, so had no clue.... in hindsight i would have grabbed a Shield TV Pro 2019 instead and a external eARC/HDMI adapter for my old AVR.

This is now a forum thread for the masses since OP only visited us for four days after opening the thread.

The Shield was a great HTPC and it still can be (I have a 2015 model), but all the latest "Experience" updates have dented my confidence in that Nvida device.
