Remote HDMI switching
#1
I'm looking for a solution to remotely be able to switch the HDMI source of a TV using CEC. I will be using an Android (7.1) device and a Raspberry Pi 4. I've been searching all over and my search led me here to Kodi/XMBC. I couldn't find something similar in my searching but is there an existing add on available somewhere for this?

Use case:
- Have a device (Android or Raspberry Pi) connected to input 1 on a TV with CEC
- input 2 has Direct TV and is the selected input
- I need to auto switch (say every morning at 8AM) to HDMI 1
OR
- I need to be able to remote in to the device to switch the TV source to input 1

I hope that makes sense and any help is greatly appreciated. I hope this is in the right forum.

Thanks!

One other thing to consider, independently of CEC, is that some TVs have an IP remote control solution implemented.  My Sony TV can be controlled over IP (cabled or WiFi network connection) - so you can change channels, change volume, change HDMI inputs etc. using commands sent over IP.  I believe other manufacturers also support this too. (ISTR that Sony have a couple of different supported methods for doing this).  CEC is a neat solution too - but it may not be the only one.  (Software like Home Assistant supports various manufacturers IP protocols, but you can also find small command line utilities if you google.  The same is true of many AVRs)
