WIP Ember Media Manager 1.9.x - Download & Discussion Thread
(2020-05-14, 13:06)gully53 Wrote: Since my Scrapers-Data settings were way out of wack (now updated) using what you listed, would you be willing to share your Scraper - Images settings? I have 3 enabled, in order: FanartTV, TMDB, TVDB and all options have been clicked/checked. Maybe for images it does not really matter as much? Even though I have used Ember for over 5 years (thank you Dan for this great app), still a newbie as far as settings go.

Not sure if any of this depends on how/what your setup is.....I store movies/tvshows on several NAS, have Kodi 18.6 installed on 2 Nvidia TV Shields (older versions) and use default skin, Estuary. Simple setup that works fine for both me and my wife.

I don't use TVDb for images.

Then just the naming from Files and Sources

Hope it helps Smile

Because there is no "official" place to save that information (same for season plot). If you want to get that inforamtion to Kodi you've to use the Kodi Interface (Settings => Modules) in Ember to sync.

If you've added the source as UNC path (\\SERVERNAME\SHARE) you've to set the username and passwort in Windows. Another user had the same problem but i can't remember the solution and i also don't know the thread or post.
Thanks komplex....definitely very helpful.

Would you also be doing the same thing for movies - using 2 scrapers for data (TMDB and IMDB) - and just using IMDB for "Rating" only?

Thank you for your time and your insight.
So I've setup the Kodi interface on ember, scraped with season names and they're in tvshow.nfo, what's next? Library update through ember? I'm having the source in Kodi set to be scraped by tmdb scraper btw.

Sorry for all the questions but it's been many years since I used Kodi with a media manager, used online scrapers for a good while recently.

Update: I did make some progress, so I need to use the right click menu, Kodi interface sync to sync from ember to Kodi for an item (show, season etc.) after a change. Yes, it seems to work when I change say fanart but still not on episode titles. Don't get me wrong it's not awfully important just trying to figure it out.
komplex...thanks again. Just finished re-scraping my movies using your settings - nice to see movies with ratings based on tens of thousands of votes vs. 8.

Just noticed though....looks like my Jackie Chan and spaghetti westerns ended up with non-english titles. To force english titles, would I go into the IMDB scraper, check Force title langue to USA, remove movies with non-english titles from ember library and then rescan them in again?

I've never had an issue where it didn't get the correct title, maybe @DanCooper can chime in on the best setting to use if that is happening
When changing the language to "Chinese", enter "Settings" crash
komplex - thanks for confirming. Definitely sounds like I missed a checkbox somewhere along the line. Removing the movies with foreign titles and then rescanning did not work (thought by checking Force Title Language = USA for IMDB scraper would ensure english titles). Simple solution was to just go into Edit Movie and change title (I left the Original title).

DanCooper - have a feeling I am missing a simple option somewhere along the line. Finally updated my settings for movies (enabled IMDB scraper for data and made it first in scrape order, and TMDB second in scrape order - all others are disabled - had previously only used TMDB and did not run into this issue). I ended up with some movies with foreign titles (Jackie Chan movies, old spaghetti westerns etc., newer Korean movie Parasite etc.)....since this does not happen to komplex, definitely a setting on my end. Any idea what it would be that I am missing?

I am just curious to check how long should it take to scan a library of approx 12k movies, for my windows 10 install it takes 10-15 mins, not sure if thats normal or the next version will be more efficient.
DanCooper, Thanks for the great software, I've been using it for years.   I was wondering if there was another build after 2020-02-29?  I've been trying to use that version but it has some known bugs.  Sorry if this has been asked before, but I

It's the latest one. I've already fixed some bugs and added other improvements to 1.5 (not yet commited) and working on another solution for themes. A new bugfix release will maybe be ready next week.

12k movies in 10-15 min sounds good, right?
