Linux ALSA/Pulse audio unsupported LynxTWO, so need Kodi with OSS4 support on Ubuntu - yes?
#1
Hi,

So my very nice LynxTWO sound card has no ALSA/Pulse drivers available for Ubuntu.
The only drivers available for the LynxTWO sound card are from Open Sounds System 4.
OSS4 release notes
This means getting OSS4 set up on my Ubuntu system - which I quite prepared to do, but only if Kodi support OSS4 as an audio sink
Kodi 18 Release notes, say OSS is there
"On the audio side, there's a wealth of improvements and new support for all types of playback system: ALSA, PulseAudio, OSS, Pi Audio, DirectSound, WASAPI, Darwin, SndIO"
This is a bit vague and I can't find good documentation to clarify.

Can someone confirm if OSS(4) is supported as an audio sink on Kodi 18 on Ubuntu?

Thanks, Neeto

Source is there: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blob/master...inkOSS.cpp
but you need to explicitely build it.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
