GF left with our box - please help!

Hi,
For years I used the first FireTV which I loved, but it didn't play 10bit videos.
Than moving with my girlfriend, for years, we used her Mac mini.

Now we broke up Sad and I need a new box. My needs are simple:
1. 1080p, 10bit h.265.
2. USB port.
3. Good remote.
4. Under 100$
5. Netflix hd.

Many thanks

Take yourself a bit of time until getting a new box, perhaps checking out a new stick would be an option as well.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

In this thread the Ugoos X2 CUBE, but it has not USB port from the pictures I've seen.
Also I forgot to mention that playing Netflix 1080p is also a necessity.

If you are happy with only connecting FAT32 ( 4GB Max file size limit) formatted USB HDD’s via an OTG cable, then checkout the Fire TV Stick 4K or the faster Fire TV Cube gen. 2

They are often on discount sale.

OTG is not ideal but I can manage no problem.
Thing is, I think, both do not have PL audio input. I connect my box to a projector and for the sound I connect it to a receiver.

Sorry for missing some important details in my description.

Normally users connect ...

HDMI media player > HDMI Audio Receiver > HDMI display.

I’ve no idea what “PL” audio means.

For 1080p Netflix both HDMI audio receivers and HDMI connected displays must support HDCP 1.x

PL is the normal audio jack.
I am using a very good vintage receiver, so no HDMI.

Are you talking about either TosLink or optical audio? Or maybe 3.5mm jack/rca jacks?

I am talking about your everyday average audio cable, same as the connection for pc speakers/ earphones.

You are not going to find any Kodi or Netflix capable media player with that sort of analog audio Jack support.

Your options are getting a HDCP capable HDMI splitter that also has a 3.5mm analog audio headphone jack, then likely also use an adapter for PL audio support.

OR

Getting something like an Odroid N2 that has a really good onboard DAC with a 3.5mm headphone audio socket output, then use an adapter for PL audio plug support.

1080p Netflix would then be had via the Kodi Leia Netflix Addon.

I am not talking about analog audio, I am talking about the 3.5mm headphone, which I think some devices do have.
So summary:
1. 1080p, 10bit h.265.
2. USB port.
3. Good remote.
4. Under 100$
5. Netflix hd.
6. 3.5mm headphone output
