Release Transparent UK Cable, Satellite and Freeview Channel Logo Pack
#1
Hi this is a collection of 900 Transparent Channel Logos for British cable (Virgin Media), satellite (Freesat and Sky), terrestrial (Freeview) and Irish satellite (Sky) television channel and radio stations.
These logo's are sourced from Jasmeet181 https://github.com/Jasmeet181/mediaportal-uk-logos mediaportal Logo thread and have been resized from the high quality source files to 800x450 and center padded on transparent backgrounds.
If you have any Logo's you would like to contribute please see Jasmeet181 github thread above.
Please note: These logo's work best on a skin with a dark background

To install:
Download and extract the icons.
Open pvr settings in kodi.
Change settings to advanced or expert (if you have not already done)
Go to menu/osd and select folder with channel icons and direct it to the icon folder above
Then click scan for missing icons.
Alternatively you may also be able to add the icons to your chosen back-end and have them imported automatically into your Kodi clients.

Note: If you have any missing icons you need to check the names of the icons so they match exactly the channel name as it appears in Kodi to get them to display.

Hi. Thanks again for the link to these logos. They certainly solve my issue of massively oversized logos in the tv guide (for wide logos) but appear to go to the other extreme and are very small. Here's an example of Free Sports - is this how it's meant to be displayed? Thanks.

Basically yes, the dimensions are 800x450, so extremely wide logos like this will always look small but square logos will look fine (H2 or the Food Network for example). You could change the dimensions yourself but then the logos wouldn't be uniform & the left margin would be all over the place. Looking at your screenshot those ITV logos should match up with the left-hand side of the freesports logo, so I assume those logos are not from the same pack & have different dimensions.

Hi - all the logos are the same size (800x450 - currently the recommended size on the kodi wiki)
For the arctic horizon skin - the tv logo height gap is currently very small in the guide so logos may appear squashed. Furthermore it looks like some additional padding is also applied to the top and bottom by the skin.

You can manually increase the width by cropping some pixels of the top and bottom of the logo. But the default size is already very close to the channel text length limit (see 2nd picture in link above for the BBC parliament channel) so you may get some overlapping on channels with longs names etc

Thanks for the response. Yes, you’re right, these are from Jameet’s original MediaPortal logos.

Very helpful information, thanks. Going to try these out properly. Even my current logos that I like the size of have alignment issues, so I think these will definitely tidy things up a lot. Thanks again.

No problem enjoy!
Perhaps we can badger @jurialmunkey to increase the height of the guide rows so the channel icons aren't so small - a bit more like the aura skin  Laugh

Hi. Thanks again for these logos. Just download channel 4+1 (SD) png light logo. I know these are meant to be centre aligned but it looks right aligned to me next to your other logos I’ve downloaded Image. Just wanted to check this is how it’s meant to be? Thanks.

Hi
I've just checked and its definitely centre aligned my end:

Are you importing them directly to kodi or using a back-end such as tvheadend/nextpvr to provide them? Perhaps something is going on there?
Regards

Ps. You are using the download from the releases page https://github.com/sammy2142/mediaportal...00x450.zip and not the source code?

Looks like tvheadend is messing with logos. Imported to .hts in Kodi and logo was centre aligned. Now it’s moved itself to the right. Maybe need to clean tvheadend cache. Cheers.
