Samba: Software caused connection abort, Invalid Argument
#1
I'm receiving errors trying to connect to a samba share using samba 3: 'Software caused connection abort' when I don't restrict Kodi's max samba version, and `unix_err:'16' error : 'Invalid argument'` when I restrict Kodi's max samba version to v1.

I can connect Kodi to a different samba server with no errors,

I can connect my OSX laptop to the samba server that Kodi is unable to connect to.

`unix_err:'35' error : 'Software caused connection abort'`

`unix_err:'16' error : 'Invalid argument'`

Any idea what the issue is & what I can do to resolve it?

Thanks in advance!

edit:
192.168.1.113 is a share on macOS 10.10.5 using Apple's samba implementation, kodi connects fine to this.
192.168.1.53 is a share on macOS 10.7 using macports' samba implementation, kodi cannot connect to this

I observe the same errors on ATV4 and ATV4K while latest LibreElec version on Raspberry Pi connects to same server with no problems.

I believe it was related to recent bumping of samba lib. Also interested how to solve this, restricting samba versions in Kodi settings don't help.

Im getting an invalid argument when adding my Time Capsule as a Samba source for videos on v19 kodi-20200901 on Apple TV4k running latest firmware .
The same settings work well on the v17 of Kodi.
VLC and Infuse etc both connect to the Time Capsule on the same Apple TV4k.
Thank you
Fixed, change Samba settings on Kodi 19 to Samba 1 and tick legacy security .

Just in case it helps someone else, I had to change Minimum and Maximum protocol versions to SMBv1, in addition to the 'Use legacy security' on, else it would not work for me..
