YouTube Plug-in Thread
#76
Updated version with proxy works like a charm!
Thank you for your efford and the great work!

If you don't mind me asking a small question: What kind of proxy is this?
#77
It's an very basic http server, http://127.0.0.1:<port>/<video_id>.mpd responds with the generated dash file from temp folder.
The generated dash file cannot be played from filesystems that contain \'s , using the basic http server as a proxy to the local files resolves that.

Thanks for explanation!

4K does not work
#80
Sorry to bother everybody I am totally new to all of this I felt at the thread post 63 and I am unable to figure out exactly what I have to do to get live streaming on my YouTube working again.
The LINQ that is posted doesn't go anywhere. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but if somebody could direct me and tell me how to fix this I would appreciate it thanks.
#81
@beercajob   Was 4k even working?

@newb 1 2-2018  you need to download the current development version from github (link in post #2) and extract it manualy in the addons directory.
#82
Thanks for the reply I'll work on it now hope it works thanks in advance buy
#83
I went to post #2 and clicked on the link for the download. Which plug-in do I need to download?

There are a total of six different downloads I am not clear as to which one is the newest. Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance
#84
@beercajob If you're on version 5.4.5 see post #2, otherwise post a debug_log (wiki) please.

@newb 1 2-2018 plugin.video.youtube-5.4.6.alpha*.zip for Kodi 14, plugin.video.youtube-5.5.0.alpha*.zip for Kodi 15+ and you can install from zip.

Thumbs Up
@anxdpanic
Thank you for the latest alpha. This fixed the problem with the "my Channel" videos.
#86
Thanks in advance for any help I am currently working on the log and Google uploaded as soon as possible.

All this is kind of new to me so bear with me I'll get it to you as soon as I can thanks
#87
@newb 1 2-2018 Live dash requires inputstream adaptive version >= 2.0.12, so you may want to check that. If you've updated to the alpha and still aren't sure if it's working you can enable 'Settings - General - Always ask for the video quality' and you should see Live DASH as quality option when playing a live stream.

Are you ever going to read the FAQ and Personal API instructions for this addon (that are noted in my signature)?

NB: these are still linked to the old thread but will be transferred to this new thread in the coming days when I have time do so.
I've read those instructions and tried them but they didn't work.  I'm also using Libreelec, not Android, so having to type in the API keys is also pretty difficult.  I wish there was an easier way to resolve this issue.
Me too, but the Android app Kore allows you to paste text into your Libreelec/Kodi, so it's easy to paste the key.

I hope I post this in the right section.

I appreciate all the help I can get from you guys. I want to paste a link to my original post that got this started

https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid2690955

Here's some background

Using Raspberry Pi3.  I was on Kodi 17-3 in Dec and upgraded to 17.5 and had issues and then downgraded back to 17.3 and the problem persisted.

Prior to January 1st 2018 everything was fine for about 8 months. I was able to stream live webcams, live TV News channels, live podcasts, live music all on YouTube. Everything I needed was on YouTube I loved it.

I made a new API key which did not help either. YouTube would start for a few seconds and then shut down regardless of any live stream.

Anything else on YouTube I can stream no problem it's only the live streams that will not play.

Again I hope I post this in the right spot. Thanks in advance for any help

@newb 1 2-2018
There is currently no fix for the HLS live streams. I'm not optimistic on resolving this on our end, but will be looking more into it.
The Live DASH (working) is likely not available on anything less than Kodi 17.6 due to requiring inputstream adaptive >= 2.0.12 which still isn't available in all cases. ie raspbian is @ 2.0.10
So at the moment the only solution would be to update kodi and inputstream adaptive to make use of live dash.
